Sarah Phillips

Sarah Phillips moved to Miami from London in 2019, and still wakes up every morning (well, most mornings) feeling grateful for the sunshine. Thanks to her enthusiasm for the city, she won Jancis Robinson’s wine writing competition for her entry, Miami for Wine Lovers, in August of that year.

Before moving to Florida, Sarah worked in PR and marketing for a fine wine trading company. She is now a freelance wine educator, writer and events host. She holds the WSET Diploma in Wine & Spirits and is a current Master of Wine student.

Favourite places

  • When in need of a last-minute bottle, Sarah jumps on a Citi Bike and heads down to Azul at Sunset Harbour
  • When in the mood for cocktails, she heads to The Drunken Dragon, which probably has the best Happy Hour on South Beach.
  • Her top restaurant recommendation for Miami visitors (and locals) is Macchialina

Jacqueline Coleman

Jacqueline Coleman grew up in Miami drinking Mojitos on the beach and didn’t discover a love for wine until she lived in northern Virginia in her mid-twenties. It was the “History and Wine” of Virginia that she credits with inspiring her to pursue wine at a professional level.

Over the years, Jacqueline has worn (and still wears) many hats in the wine & media industries from sales to consulting, competition judge, student, writer, and even radio host.

Jacqueline holds WSET 3 in Wine, as well as several other sommelier certifications. She is also a Certified Sherry Wine Specialist (CSWS). However, her greatest education has been as a result of the many relationships she has made through global wine country travels.

Favorite places

  • For the perfect gift bottle, Jacqueline goes to 305Wines.
  • An afternoon sipping wine and snacking on tapas should be spent at Happy Wine on Calle Ocho or Vinya on Key Biscayne.
  • When she needs a specific vintage or unique personalized tasting experience, Jacqueline goes to Wine by the Bay.
  • One Miami restaurant with an irresistible wine list is Amara at Paraiso.
