Earlier this week, we had the opportunity to enjoy Catena Zapata wines on a beautiful Miami night in celebration of the return of professional tennis.
Citi’s Taste of Tennis event made its way to Miami this week in coordination with the Miami Open tennis tournament. This premier lifestyle event has been on the tennis tour for over 20 years. After a pandemic hiatus, it has returned in 2022 for live events in both Indian Wells, CA and here in Miami.
Miami’s all-star lineup of chefs participating in this year’s event included David Shim of Cote; Andrianne Calvo of Maximum Flavor Hospitality Group, and her iconic restaurants (Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Bar, Forte, Redfish by Chef Adrianne); and Valerie Chang of Itamae, among others. Throughout the evening, DJ Mad Linx provided MC and musical entertainment covering a range of Miami party favorites.
Guests to the event were treated to refreshing cocktails by several different spirits brands, and notable wines by Argentina’s Catena Zapata. The wines presented by Catena included their Nicasia Vineyard Malbec, Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Chardonnay, “White Clay” white blend, and the Nicolas Catena “La Marchigiana” Criolla.
Miami Open Tennis Tournament Brings Big Stars
Each year, the Miami Open tennis tournament is the top professional tennis event in South Florida. Attendees at Citi’s Taste of Tennis had the opportunity to see and hear from stars like tennis legend, Venus Williams, and former number one International Hall of Famer and nine-time Grand Slam Champion, Monica Selas.
Throughout the evening, these tennis pros and top Miami chefs interacted through entertaining cooking demonstrations, giving fans the ultimate tennis and food pairing experience. In addition to the wines by Catena Zapata, popular spirit brands, Diplomático Rum and Casa del Sol Tequila, were mixing cocktails to give thirsty tasters many beverage options to enjoy with their bites.
It’s also important to note that a portion of the proceeds raised at this year’s Citi Taste of Tennis Miami will benefit the USTA Foundation, the national charitable arm of the United States Tennis Association.
The full list of Miami’s participating chefs included:
